Originating from Long Island, New York came one of the most influential groups to ever emerge in the genre of hip-hop: Public Enemy. The group of five (Chuck D, Flava Flav, Terminator X, DJ Lord and Professor Griff) embraced revolutionary and controversial messages amongst political and radical issues concerning the black race throughout their music and social activism off the record.
